Welcome to your next stop on the 2019 Sew Americana Blog Tour!
We went totally all out this year with swim for everybody plus a coverup!
Before I start diving in (pun totally intended!) to my love for sewing swim and having suits that actually fit us, please try and visit some of the other stops on out tour using the links at the bottom of this post.
For my suit and my daughter’s suit, I used to Petite Stitchery Moonbeam suit (for women and girls) releasing this Thursday! It is a one shoulder swim suit with options for a full coverage one piece, a fun cutout one piece, or a swim dress WITH POCKETS! There are three leg heights and a super cute flounce at the neck if you are feeling fancy.
Y’all, I LOVE sparklers. My childhood was devoid of them and so I’m still trying to make up for that. My son loves them like I do too <3
My daughter on the other hand……I cropped her face out….because it was like that stressed out emoji.
The amazing Katy over at Sly Fox Fabrics is a fabric sponsor for this tour and she sent me this seriously cushy and soft white velour french terry. My daughter had been BEGGING for a coverup because so many of her fiends have one. Done!
Sister was FEELING herself in her new coverup!
Now I was feeling jealous so I knew I needed to get in on this because they were having ENTIRELY too much fun with their new suits and the photoshoots.
I used a super fun mini heart swim knit from Boho Fabrics to make my own Moonbeam suit. It is sold out now, but they still have tons of other cute swim prints in stock! And when I put it on, I really just didn’t want to take it off. It had been a looooong morning and I had errands to run still….so I through some jeans over it and BAM! Outfit of the day that will take me to the store, the pool, a swim meet, and anywhere else I might need to go!
I hope you all venture out and make your own swim suits this year! I know some people are scared of it. I was intimidated at first too. But now I look forward to it all year…..or just sew them all year because…hot tubs!
Here’s a couple more photos because I just could not get enough of them!
