Today is my turn on the fabulous Blithe Blog tour!! I am so excited to have an opportunity to show what I made with this line. I also have a confession, Katarina Roccella is one of my most favorite fabric designers. She balances colors, patterns, textures in such a way that makes her fabric perfect for garments!! Blithe does not disappoint!
So, you can imagine my delight when I started playing with these fabrics. The first look I made was using the Sparrow and Aspen patterns. For the Aspen skirt I used the Joy Wreaths in Plum for the main skirt and then used Winterberries Gold and Bows in Whispers . For a finishing touch, I used Evergreens Frozen for a contrast ruffle. I love the little pop of blue . The Sparrow top was made using Calid Rain, an amazing new knit solid!! I used the Joy Wreaths in Plum for the collar to bring it all together. I love this look so much and I love that the look fits across multiple seasons. Notice the Holly cross body bag? I will come back to this.
Since my girls are obsessed with leggings and tunics, I also did another look from the Sparrow pattern. This time I did the hi-lo tunic option with Fawn leggings. For the top, I used Bows in Silence with the collar in Winterberries Gold. The leggings were made with the same Calid Rain knit paired with Deer Houndstooth Fair for the tuxedo stripe. This tuxedo stripe is made using a woven fabric. This combo is just stunning!! I love it with leggings and I also love it with skinny jeans. Mia wears this one a lot.
Finally, I made a dress using the Sparrow bodice Maize skirt. This dress is made using the Philosophers Thoughts knit. Megan loves it because the dress has pockets!! But, I wasn’t done yet. I used the Rosemary Cowl Crop to add a layer to this look. I love this crop top paired with dresses, it changes the whole look of the dress. The Dear Deer Teal Knit was the perfect combination. The grays in the dress compliment the teals and grays of the crop top. I just lined the crop with white knit. Such a cozy combination for winter and spring! My daughter loves it because she is comfortable and looks a bit more grown up!
So let’s get back to that crossover bag. Once you receive your Dear Dear Teal fabric, you’ll see how gorgeous those deer are! It’s really a work of art. I designed the Holly crossover bag (a free pattern by the way), just to show off those deer! Now my girls can be stylish and have all their important belongings!!
Thank you for checking out all my looks!! Keep following the blog tour, by checking out Skirt Fixation’s post tomorrow!!
