Check out this adorable tutorial from one of our testers! Kyla Sorenson is so creative! I just love the look of the lace on the Fawn Tuxedo option Leggings!
Step1: Cut out your pattern pieces according the instructions for the Tuxedo Stripe.
Step 2: Assemble the legs according to the instructions. (Follow Steps 1-5 of the Fawn tutorial)
Step 3: Once you have the tuxedo stripe sewn in, iron the seams toward the tuxedo stripe.
Step 4: Next you will want to get out your Wonder Tape! You will never want to use trim without it again! It is wash away so it will keep your trim where you need it right now but…
Step 5: Run the Wonder Tape right along the seam on each side of the tuxedo stripe. You will want the tape on the tuxedo stripe side NOT the pant leg side.
Step 6: Continue with the other Tuxedo stripe.
Step 7: Peel off the paper backing on one at a time. Place your crochet lace or ribbon right along the seam. The edge of the lace should match up to the seam of the tuxedo stripe.
Step 8: Repeat until you have lace on each tuxedo stripe.
Step 9: Sew along the outside edge… basically topstitching the lace on. I like to use a walking foot for this and I lengthen my stitch length to 3.5.
Step 10: If you have wider trim you will also want to run a stitch along the other side. Especially for Crochet lace since it likes to really wrinkle up after it is washed if it does not have 2 rows of stitching! Trust me on that one… I may have experience with it!
Step 11: After you finish stitching the trim down you complete the sewing per the pattern instructions! THEN try them on your girly and admire the cuteness!
