We have a new addition to the team! Meet Jennifer!! You will love her energy and passion!
Here is a little about Jennifer!
“When in India, just after I married my darling hubby, my father-in-law said he’d get out his old sewing machine to give me my first lesson. He gave me his lungi (a man’s loincloth) to hem, and I couldn’t stitch a straight line if my life depended on it. Then he had me stitch my first pair of children’s underwear. I blushed at the thought of a child. And with his help, I made them. No elastic. Bare bones woven undies. I went home and bought my first sewing machine (with DVD) 6 years ago. It’s been a wild ride ever since, fostered by our incredible online community.
Tutorials and inspiration were always near. I sewed daily the last number of years and tested for dozens of amazing designers while simultaneously offering custom creations in my sewing shop, working as an English Instructor, and creating assignments for a textbook company. Like most of us in the sewing community, sewing is my creative outlet; and I run to it at every opportunity.
It’s beautiful that I can now take part in the design process. I was actually working on my first women’s pattern when Ashley released the girls’ Adelyn Point Dress. Immediately, I thought, “Women need this!” and threw my pattern aside and started drafting the Mama Adelyn. It started with a much looser fit, and my testers said they’d prefer fitted sleeves for layering. They are the women I’m designing for…so fitted sleeves it was! It’s incredible to be both a tester and a designer; I love being heard as a tester, and now it’s my opportunity to listen to my testers and design gorgeous creations for Petite Stitchery & Co.”
Yay! I am so excited to have Jen on board! ?♀️ Y’all help me give her a big warm welcome!!
