2024 is welcoming a bunch of great changes for PSCo but the one we are most excited about is updated size charts! Not only did they get a sleek new design that includes both imperial and metric measurements, we added two new sizes to the Adult size chart- XXS and 5X!

We really wanted to simplify the process of selecting a size and think the new size charts will do just that. Let's take a look!

New Adult Size Chart

When I was tossing around the idea of updating the adult size chart I knew I wanted to do two main things. First, I wanted to refine the fit proportions of our plus size pattern blocks and second, I wanted to make selecting sizes easier for sewists by dropping the size "ranges" in the new size charts.

Instead of listing the sizes with a range of measurements (like a bust of 31-33"), now each size only has one measurement for the bust, waist, and hip. Only having one set of measurements to draft for at each size allows us to list the exact amount of ease included at each size. In turn, this allows sewists to more accurately select their size based on their measurements, the ease included, and the finished measurements provided.

So what do you do if you are in between sizes?

Each tutorial now contains a new section called "Selecting A Size". This section contains the ease added to the pattern, how to select a size for that particular garment, and a list of finished measurements. If you need to grade in between two sizes, there are instructions for that too!

New Kids Size Chart

The new kids size chart also does away with the "ranges", listing only one measurement for the chest, waist, and hip. You will select sizing the same way with the kids chart as you do with the adult size chart. One thing that you will notice is that we renumbered the sizes so that our kids chart flows into the tween chart with numerical accuracy. (If you know you know and yes this has also bothered me for years lol)

Coming Soon...

I did mention that 2024 was welcoming a bunch of great things, right?

Well, this year we are introducing several new pattern collections and launching a brand new pattern line just for babies and kids! Make sure that you subscribe to the newsletter to stay up to date on all the exciting things in the works for PSCo!
